December Meet – what should we do?

by Joanna Geary on November 1st, 2008 in Next meet  |  6 Comments

As I look forward to the third Social Media Cafe on November 28th, the question arises: What should we do about the December meet?

If we stick to the “last Friday of every month”, the December event will fall on Boxing Day.

Alternatives I can think of are:

Move the meet to December 19th.
Cancel the meet and organise some sort of separate Christmas get-together (possibly in the evening).
Cancel the meet and start again on January 30th.

Thoughts?

If there’s a meet on Boxing Day, I’ll be able to come!

I never thought of keeping it on Boxing Day – I’ll have to check if Coffee Lounge is open, but it is an option!

It would be good to have something in December to maintain the momentum – although I probably wouldn’t be able to make Boxing Day.

    Dec 19th gets my vote.

I’m all for doing something Christmasy (the 19th looks good for me too!). So many freelancers and small businesses miss out on a workplace Christmas Party so it would be good to at least have the opportunity to get sloshed and make idiots of ourselves!

    Thanks for the feedback.

It opens up another option (which I am quite liking the sound of).

We could have the cafe on the 19th and, for those that don’t need to go back to work, we could follow it with a bit of a Christmas lunch!

I would try and get the day off work too…
